i have a virus in my computer and somethings just keep popping up... where can i go for a free antivirus and anti spyware?... my comp runs Windows ME....

i like firefox better then i.e i had ME for a while to dont worry this will work.
1. download superantispyware
2. let it update and do a complete scan normaly only a quick scan,
3. click start
4. all programs
5. accessories
6. system tools
7. and click the disk clean up
this will remove old files and compress and clean them so your less likely to have a virus.

Honestly, if computer is already infected by a virus or spyware, downloading anti-virus or anti-spy might not help, there are instances it will but most of the time it won't. Since the computer is already infected, the newly installed software might be overridden by the existing infection and you can't have 2 anti-viruses or anti-spies at the same time because that would definitely conflict. So the best way to get rid of viruses or spywares would be to to clean out the computer, meaning taking out the whole windows then putting it back on.
